Contract staff stage protest at Gandhi Hospital

Secunderabad: Outsourcing employees of Gandhi Hospital have been staging protest in front of Superintendent Block of the hospital for the last four days demanding payment of their salary arrears of last two months. On Thursday, secretary of Hyderabad CITU M Venkatesh also participated in protests along with employees.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkatesh expressed his unhappiness over the non-payment of salaries by the respective contractors and questioned the hospital authorities why they have not intervened to address the issue.

Questioning Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said why the salaries of employees who work in the prestigious hospital in the Telangana state, which is being claimed by the CM as the richest state, were kept pending for the last two months. Meanwhile, the outsourced employees have elected J Kumaraswamy as president of Gandhi Hospital Outsourcing Workers Union.
