Cops call for peaceful celebration of festivals

Patancheru: Local DSP Rajeswara Rao has called for celebration of various festivals in a peaceful atmosphere without hurting the sentiments of others. The DSP advised maintenance of hygiene during the Bakrid celebrations and disposing of the animal waste in the plastic covers provided by the GHMC staff.

He said that none should make provoke people during the festival, referring to the scrapping of Article 370 in the border state of Jammu and Kashmir. Representatives of other communities should exercise restraint and should not cause any problems. In case of any disturbance, the police should be informed, the DSP stressed. Among those who attended the meeting were CI Naresh and local Muslim community elders.
