Cops carry out Swachh awareness drive
Serilingampally: Miyapur Police Inspector Venkatesh has stated that dengue fever can be prevented by people by keeping their surrounding clean and green and maintaining personal hygiene.
He was speaking at an awareness programme for hut-dwellers in Omkarnagar area, in which the police station staff, IT employees and retired teachers participated. They cleared garbage at a school and planted saplings.
Later, they created awareness on utilising the services of experts among the residents with regard to taking precautions against mushrooming of mosquitoes like sprinkling of turmeric in cooking fire, using Neem leaves, husk and 'Sambrani.'
The expert advised the residents to prevent growth of mosquitoes/larva by using smoke caused by diesel, petrol and kerosene. The CI thanked the IT employees for showing social responsibility in the programme on a holiday.
Later, Ramachandrapuram AYUSH doctors distributed Homeo tablets to local women, children and elderly persons as a measure to prevent Dengue, Chikungunya and viral fevers. Residents praised the CI for displaying social responsibility while conducting the programme.
Participants in the programme included Homeo doctors Swamy, Hari, Linga Raju, GHMC Entomology staff, advocates of Anant Law College, retired teachers, local leaders, DI Mahesh, SIs Linga Naik, Raghuram and Appa Rao.
