Allwyn Colony: Corporator Dodla Venkatesh Goud on Friday advised the residents of the division here to take a firm resolve to prevent the spread of Dengue fever, which has been causing a havoc in the twin cities.

In an attempt to create public awareness and also responding to the call by MAU&D Minister K Taraka Rama Rao to people to keep their surroundings clean, Goud rallied in Indra Hills Colony, along with the GHMC sanitation and entomology staff, with a view to impress upon residents to take precautions against Dengue.

Goud visited every house and inspected flower pots inside and in the surroundings. He advised the residents not to allow water stagnation and collection of waste material, which could give rise to mosquitoes. He persuaded them to get rid of disused tires and avoid water storage in drums, besides opting for spreading fungicide to kill mosquito larva.

The corporator urged residents to totally remove stored water in houses, as part of the dry day being observed every Friday. TRS leaders Jilla Ganesh, K Raju, Kasani Mallesh and Rajender participated in the rally.
