Council for Transforming India to hold national essay contest
Hyderabad: As part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, Council for Transforming India (CTI) is organising a national essay writing contest on the theme of 'Gandhian Perspective of Development.'
A formal launch of the contest was held on Tuesday. Team members of CTI launched this contest in the presence of Kalvakuntla Kavitha, president, Telangana Jagruthi. Kavitha called upon the youth & students to actively participate in this contest and speak up about their take on Gandhian perspectives on development.
She marked the Mahatma Gandhi's developmental views were humanitarian in nature and Gandhi still had a tremendous influence on current development thinking.
She reminded that the Telangana Jagruthi International Youth Conference in January 2019 had as its theme 'Gandhian Path to Sustainability and Innovation,' which drew more than 800 youth from 140 countries. It showed the global vision of Gandhian development models.
Rohith Vakrala, founder and convener of Council for Transforming India, said, "many institutions, campus clubs and organisations working on Gandhian model are coming forward to make this contest the successful one, and request every one to take part, spread out ideas on Gandhian Perspective of Development, and win the very special Gandhi merchandise in this this 150th year of his birth anniversary."
This contest will kick-start on August 9 (Quit India Day) and submissions will be accepted till September 15. Winners will be declared on October 2. Vice President of CTI Shanmukha Rao, members Purnith, Surya Teja and Yeshwanth, and others were present at the launch.
