CRPF battalion starts 3-day annual parade

Chandrayangutta: On the occasion of annual inspection by Rajesh Kumar, DIG, Signal Range 2 Signal Bn (battalion), CRPF organised a colourful ceremonial parade on the Chandrayangutta campus on Wednesday.

This annual inspection of 2 Signal Bn would be held for three days, during which performance and achievements including indigenously innovated and developed gadgets by technical team unit would be judged by DIG Rajesh Kumar.

According to CRPF, this unit has played a significant role during Assembly elections-2019 in AP and General Parliamentary Elections in 12 States/UTs by providing flawless and uninterrupted communication cover to all the troops deployed for the election duties.

The unit is commanded by Amit Kumar Singh, a Gallantry medal awardee. This year the unit's personnel have been bestowed with one police medal for gallantry, a police medal for meritorious service and 55 nos DG's Commendation Disc and Certificate, so far. Rajesh Kumar belongs to 22nd batch of cadre officer having vast experience in serving every nook and corner of the country.

He was also awarded with the police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2012. 2 Signal Bn, CRPF raised on September 01, 1968 which caters communication requirements of CRPF units/establishments located in entire Southern region of the country besides hardcore Naxal affected areas of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
