Cyclists, physios pitch in
Hyderabad: While runners at the Hans India marathon ran with gay abandon, behind the scenes, physiotherapists, cyclists from the Hyderabad Cyclist Group spread across the route to help runners. "We about 40 members from Hyderabad Cyclist Group.
Volunteered. We spread out along the route and helped the runners," says Ravinder Nandanuri, founder of Hyderabad Cyclist Group. He added, "No one got injured during the run.
We released cramps of some people and motivated them to move forward. At times when the shoulders were drooping, a shout out to move on egged runners. This is our job, to just push them to their limits and when they finish, the joy that we along with them get cannot be expressed in words.
"I am from Yerragadda. This is my third marathon. I participated in 5k run and I am sure I will increase the distance in my next run," says K Venkat Subash, 7th standard student.
"I came from Thamizpet to participate in the run. I am 25 years old and I didn't felt any problem in finishing my run. The services in the middle of the run made comfortable," says Dodla Suresh Yadav.
"I am happy to finish my 21k run for the third time. I really liked the physiotherapy session after the run.," says K Ravi Kumar, an IT developer.
