Dacoity attempt foiled; 5 held with daggers
Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force officials along with Rein Bazar Police on Wednesday averted a dacoity attempt and arrested five members. The police seized daggers, one knuckle duster and mirchi powder from the possession of the accused.
According to police, accused Mir Akber Ali (24, rowdysheeter), Syed Irfan Hussain (20, rowdysheeter), Mohammed Muzaffer (25), Mohammed Rafi (21) and Mohammed Abdul Hassan (28) were involved in many property offences and bodily offences. The main accused Mir Akber Ali is involved in 13 cases out of which 11 are property offences and two are bodily offences which includes a murder case. PD Act was invoked against him twice and he was released on bail about three months back.
In April 2019 they came to know about some offenders waylaying jewellery shop owner and committing theft of silver ornaments from him under the limits of Shalibanda police station limits. Ever since, all the accused planned and conspired to commit an offence in similar fashion and went to Nanded in a hired vehicle and bought daggers.
Since then they recceed the area and planned to commit offence at midnight in Old City. For the past three days they have been making serious attempts to commit dacoity and were keeping a watch over businessmen who were going alone in the midnight. On Tuesday night, all the five accused assembled near Yakutpura Railway station and were waiting for an opportunity to commit dacoity.
Meanwhile, on reliable information, the South Zone Task Force Team along with Reinbazar police cordoned the area near Yakutpura Railway Station and apprehended the five accused. The apprehended accused along with seized property were handed over to SHO, Rein Bazar Police station for taking further action.
