Debris not cleared for over a year

Falaknuma: Around a year ago, the GHMC officials took up road repair works and laid a CC road at Ghulam-e-Mustafa Chowni in Jangamet division in Falaknuma.

Even though the works were completed, the civic body failed to clear the debris. The local people and commuters have been facing a lot of hardships with the debris coming in their way and shrinking the road space, with the result that the pace of traffic movement has also slowed down in the area.

According to locals, laying of CC road was completed but the contractor failed to remove the debris, which lies in an open space. The open space itself is turned into a dump yard for garbage disposal. "This is nothing but the negligence of GHMC.

There has been no response from the civic body despite lodging of many complaints. Now people have started dumping garbage there. Who should be held responsible for this mess," fumed Junaid Multani, a resident, who is pursuing the matter with the officials.
