Young music exponent Pranathi Vyzarsu, performed recently for Kinnera Art Theatres at Ravindra Bharathi, during the awarding ceremony of 'Kinnera – Sri Vikari Nama Ugadi Puraskarams' presented to experts in various fields of art.

Pranathi belongs to a traditional family of artistes where Carnatic Classical Music is being practised for the past four generations. Her parents 'Sangeetacharya' Dr Vyzarsu Balasubrahmanyam and Dr Vyzarsu Pavani are also musicians by profession.

A student of Class 12, she has an innate love and passion for music and has been learning Carnatic classical vocal for the past six years. She is ambitious in achieving good knowledge of music in all its spheres of performance, academics and research. She is being trained in vocal under the expert guidance of her father Dr Vyzarsu Balasubrahmanyam, a renowned musician, musicologist, composer and guru.

She opened the concert with a Kriti of Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar 'Gajananayutham' in the Raga Chakravakam, set to Adi Talam with a brief swarakalpana. The main item of the evening was 'Marivere Dikkevvaru', a composition of Patnam Subrahmanya Iyer in the Raga Latangi, set to Khanda Chapu Talam, which she presented with Manodharma aspects of Ragalapana, Neravu and Swarakalpana.

She concluded the concert with an Annamacharya Sankeertana 'Sadanandamu' in the raga Kharaharapriya, set to Adi Talam. She was well supported by Anil Kumar Kolanka on the Violin and Krishna Sravan on the Mridangam.
