Musheerabad: TSRTC Employees Union (EU) has demanded that the state government merge TRSRTC with the government. The president and secretaries of the union were speaking at a programme held at the union office at VST Junction on Wednesday to release the poster for 'Chalo Assembly' a protest programme to be held on July 19.

General secretary of the union, Raji Reddy, asked the state government to merge RTC in government and implement pay revision without much delay as it was already delayed by two years. He also demanded release of all dues to TSRTC. Although the number of retired RTC employees reached 6,000, the vacant posts are not filled by the management, he admitted.

Raji Reddy demanded the management to provide job security to drivers and conductors working in RTC. He questioned why government has not appointed permanent MD even after one year. Raji Reddy said that the union has given a call for 'Chalo Assembly' on July 19 to press the state government for resolution of various issues of RTC employees. As part of the protest, hunger strike would be held at Dharna Chowk followed by a march towards assembly, he said.

EU leaders CH Narsaiah, D Gopal, V Muralidhar, S Sai Reddy, Srinivas, Kishan, Basha and others attended the program.
