Dengue claims 2 lives in Charminar zone

Old City: Two deaths were reported because of Dengue. Among the deceased was a school girl on Tuesday. A pall of gloom descended in the areas of Madannapet and Mailardevpally.

In Kurmaguda near Saidabad, a student of Saraswathi Shishumandir, Vishnu Priya studying in Class 7, was admitted to local hospital in Madannapet with high fever.

When the doctors started administering, her condition deteriorated and was later shifted to a private hospital in Kukatpally, where she breathed her last while undergoing treatment in the early hours on Tuesday.

Heart-rending scenes were witnessed in the Kurmaguda area after the news of young student's death spread out. Vishnu Priya's schoolmates and teachers visited the grief-stricken family to console. Local Corporator, Sameena Begum also made a visit to the residence.

2 siblings become orphans

At Mylardevpally near Rajendranagar, a sole bread-winner of a family and father of two young children succumbed to dengue fever on Monday. Narsimha, a resident of Babul Reddy Nagar in Mailardevpally, was said to have been suffering from dengue fever for some days.

He is survived by his two young children Nagesh, studying in 8th standard and Lakshman, studying in 7th standard in ZPHS Mailardevpally. Long ago these young children lost their mother and since then they were being nurtured and brought up by their father. Neighbours, school teachers and staff visited the house of Narsimha and consoled the two children.

The neighbours asked who would take care of these young children who became orphaned at such a young age. Former corporator S Ventakesh and local leaders Pahelwan Mallesh visited the house and met with the distressed children. They later said the children never explored the world outside the boundaries of their house and locality.
