Hyderabad: With the current spell of monsoon in Hyderabad causing severe hardships to the commuters, netizens are taking to social media like Twitter to vent their spleen at the indifference of both the government and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

Twitter, particularly, is flooded with posts on water-logging, inundation of internal roads as well as overflow of drainage from different corners of Hyderabad, pointing to the inept handling of the civic grievances and the scale of mismanagement in the city which saw rainwater turn roads into rivers. A perusal of the posts reveals an interesting development: Most of the outpourings of grief are from the people located in the IT corridor involving Hi-Tec City, Madhapur and Kondapur circles.

The continuous tweets over civic issues relate that Hyderabad might become "an urban disaster," no matter who had taken the reins of power in the city. Everything in Hyderabad is full of issues and it is incredible how people have been shouting and screaming on Twitter for a few days, tagging KTR and KCR. A tweeter Suresh compared rainstorm water flow on roads with rivers and replied to a Mumbai rain tweet that, "I am from Hyderabad.

I can tell you, just an hour's rain and roads here are like rivers and everyone is blaming (rightly so) @GHMCOnline for their failure to handle the storm water drains and nalas. If it rains like it does in Mumbai, the twin cities would be gone for good." Sai Raj Kiran from the IT corridor questioned the government that when they could spend so huge amounts for the new Secretariat, then, why it is unable to spend on roads.

He tweets thus: "Dear Mr @KTRTRS the govt has 600 cr to construct a new Secretariat even after spending 10 cr in renovation of existing one, but no funds to lay good roads! It's been 6yrs of TRS and never was ready for rainy season. Looks like Hyd with good roads will remain a dream forever."

Ramana Reddy, in his sarcastic tweet, praised the beauty of Hyderabad roads in monsoon tagging with the water logging pictures. He wrote: "Beauty of Hyderabad during monsoon. World class technology of Rain water harvesting on Roads."

Tagging PM Narendra Modi, IVNS Raju asked if any fines need to be paid by the leaders for badly maintained roads and, wrote "Any fine for this kind of roads?@KTRTRS @ysjagan @myogiadityanath @BSYBJP @narendramodi. In Hyderabad ruled by @CommissionrGHMC roads r laid with no scope to drain rain water. So every year roads r laid using precious public money. Top layer is made even for good roads.@republic"
