Doctors' association holds iftar party
Hyderabad: Doctors Association for Relief and Education (DARE) Hyderabad organised an Iftar party at Virinchi Hospital on Tuesday night.
Dr VN Mathur, a neurologist, attended the party as the chief guest, along with around 100 doctors of different faiths. On the occasion, motivational speaker from Vijayawada, Rafeeq, spoke on the topic, 'Philosophy of Fasting in Islam.'
He said that fasting is followed in every religion, but in Islam, nothing is allowed by mouth for almost 15 hours, and one should be away from all sorts of sins during fasting. Though nobody is watching the people who are fasting, they believe that Almighty Allah is watching them. The fear of God for one complete month trains them subconsciously for the rest of the 11 months.
Rafeeq said that Ramzan is the month of revelation of the holy book Quran, which is the latest version of the message from God for all the human beings, translated now in 16 languages in India, and available for every person of all faiths.
It is the code of conduct for life, and guarantees success in this life and the life after death, he said. Another speaker Dr VN Mathur said, "Bramha and Allah are different names for the same being." All guests of honour were felicitated and presented with mementos.
