Dogs suffer injuries at Gachibowli Dog Park

Hyderabad: Jayanth, owner of German Shepherd says when they were about to leave, he noticed something wasn't right. "His paws were just shredded and he was limping." He also said that he didn't notice anything sharp in the grass that could have caused the injury and he further said, Drogo, the dog was covering a lot of ground when he was playing so he could have missed something.

Ambica, a pet lover who has two dogs, said that both were suffering from diarrhea after visiting dog park in Gachibowli. "The hygiene is not being maintained properly in the park, I request authorities to have a glance on cleanliness," she added.

Jayanth isn't the only pet owner who had this problem, anothervisitor, Usha raised complaints that her dog was also injured in the same park. In fact she says it happened so several times now she stopped going there.

Preethi, a pet owner, said, "We take Candy, the pet, to Dog Park from 6.15 pm to 7.30 pm. every daybut after coming home from the park she is very dull and does not get up. Candy has been sleeping and not having water."

Samika, a frequent visitor to this park, saysit is always well-maintainedand wouldn't surprise her if someone walking by has thrown something in the park that shouldn't be there as the proper sweep is not being done every day but often."This is a public place and passers-by can throw stuff over the fence and that must be cleaned as it would hurt pets and they bleed," says Prathima Reddy,a Gachibowli resident.

Jayanthi, a weekend visitor to Dog Park concerns about the security of the dog and claims that, she has to run on roads to catch her dog which was running away from park and presents helplessness of the security guard in stopping her doggy which was fast running.

Officials at the Dog Park said they have not received any complaints and urged visitors to inform them if they find broken glasses or sharp metals in the park to avoid any injuries.
