Drainage overflow in Kothaguda

Kothaguda: Residents and commuters are facing severe inconvenience because of drain overflow. The drain water is flowing heavily on the roads in Kothaguda and creating difficulties to the commuters.

"This has been a frequent problem for the last two years. Almost for every three days Sanitation department cleans the drainage, but again there would be drainage overflow in no time," said Swathi a resident. "It is even more difficult for the motorists and commuters to travel on overflowing sewage water and this turning become an accident spot as it turned into a slippery stretch," says Srinu, a motorist.

Pedestrians and commuters complain about the dirty water sprinkling on them as the vehicles pass by. The situation is getting worse because of monsoon, water stagnation leading to traffic congestion. "This complaint has been kept pending for years. We have complained to GHMC several times, but no action has been taken. We are truly disappointed by their negligence," said Manikanta, a resident.
