Drainage overflow makes it unbearable for locals

Old Alwal: Residents of Indira Gandhi statue in the main area have been facing hardships due to the overflowing of drainage water on the roads. Pedestrians and commuters complain that the dirty water is spilling on them as the vehicles pass by. They said the situation was much worse in the rainy season as the slop of the road is low.

P Javid, a shop owner, said "Drainage overflowing is the major issue in the area. We have complained several times to the officials concerned, but no one has turned to resolve the issue It has become difficult to walk inside the shops and to park vehicles.'' Vasu M, a resident, said "The water has been flowing for a week and no one has bothered to take care of it and this has started to generate foul smell and is creating hardships for pedestrians and people nearby."
