Drainage works solve a problem, add many
Temple Alwal: Contractors are digging up roads at several places in the twin cities for taking up drainage canal construction purpose, but once the works are over, they are simply leaving debris behind and filling up the trenches haphazardly with mud. Pedestrians and motorists are finding it difficult to travel on the narrow roads, which is resulting in traffic jams often.
A resident, K Abhilash, said "The work has been going on the whole day. This is causing a lot of inconvenience as it is causing traffic jam. The pit has been left open resident's claim that they are finding it difficult to travel on roads with this open pit."
Another resident, A Teja, said "The issue is arising as workers are focusing on filling the canal with material dug from the same place without applying any pressure. The workers are spreading grit that led to grubby sand and mud on the roads. This creates possible chances for accidents."
