Drinking in public exasperates locals

Jagadgirigutta: Communist leaders of Jagadgirigutta met the Inspector of Jagadgirigutta PS and registered a complaint over grave public inconvenience due to consumption of liquor at several public places in Jagadgirigutta. Qutbullapur constituency CPI secretary Uma Mahesh, along with other leaders, urged the Inspector to take necessary action.

Uma Mahesh told the police that people were greatly annoyed by the disturbance of peace and order due to consumption of liquor at public places in evenings at various locations in the constituency: Budha Vihar Park near Saibaba temple in Maisamma Nagar; near Ambedkar Bhavan in Maqdoom Nagar; at the vacant plot behind government school in Jagadgiri Nagar; in the lane behind Swapna Wines; and near e-Seva centre in Srinivas Nagar. He urged the Inspector to provide security at the places to prevent inconvenience to people.

Among those who met the Inspector were joint secretary of Qutbullapur CPI K Durgaiah, local CPI leaders MS Reddy, K Venkatesh, Sadanand, Venkat Reddy, Sudhakar and others.
