Drop move to rationalise Anganwadi centres: CITU Nageswar Rao
Patancheru: The CITU district committee member Nageswar Rao on Tuesday demanded dropping of the proposal to link the Anganwadi centres, as it would result in loss of jobs of 4,000 Anganwadi teachers and ayahas.
He submitted a representation to Tahsildar Mahipal Reddy, informing him that the government was conspiring to wind up the Anganwadi centres. He said the government had conducted a survey on 2,000 Anganwadi centres. The district committee was opposed to the move to link Anganwadi centres which has ten children each.
Rao urged the government to re-consider the proposal and withdraw it, while warning of launching a massive agitation if the demand was not met. Among the Anganwadis present were Kavita, Prameela, Aita, Vijayalakshmi, Sunita.
