Dysfunctional public toilets in Yousufguda

Yousufguda: The public toilets installed by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in Rahamathnagar, Karikanagar and Borabanda HAVE BEEN dysfunctional. The only one public toilet at Yousufguda Basthi is in working condition but is still unhygienic.

People of the area and the commuters report that most of the public toilets in the Yousufguda Circle remain closed due to unhygienic condition and inadequate supply of water. Around 46 public toilets were installed in the city out of which three public toilets are installed near bus stops in the Yousufguda Circle.

The public toilet at outpost at Rahamathnagar and one at Yousufguda turned dysfunctional. "I reached here walking half-kilometer only to find it unclean," said Mujju Rani, a commuter affected by the GHMC poor services.

Corporator Sanjay Goud said that it is also citizens responsibility to keep the toilets clean. People must stop using dump yard at Yousufguda for open urination." "Government has spent a lot of money to install this toilet here. Does it make sense if it can't provide services for the elderly people like us," says a 67-year-old Shubash, a shopkeeper nearby.
