Eatala Rajender orders massive fogging, garbage lifting

Gandhi Hospital: Coming hard on the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the Health Minister, Eatala Rajender said on Friday that the civic body should start fogging on a large scale, and remove garbage at every nook and corner. He further added, "There is a marked difference in the number of viral cases this year. Last month alone, Fever Hospital recorded 51,000 out-patients, out of whom only 62 patients were identified positive."

The minister said that the government was taking alternative arrangements in hospitals which are witnessing huge influx of patients. "There aren't any complications, and although, the number seems huge the patents are recovering soon," he observed. "There is no scarcity of doctors or medicine so there is no need to panic. Review meetings have been held prior to rainy seasons."

So far, the Gandhi Hospital has registered 519 dengue positive cases and one swine flu case was registered during January-August. September registered 33 dengue positive cases till date. He said that additional counters were opened at major government hospitals to tackle the rush of patients and evening OP service, too, was started. Earlier, the minister inaugurated a library and seminar hall which was constructed at a cost of Rs 32 lakh. The library would be open 24/7.

Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav said there was no health emergency in the city and that there was no reason to panic. "Even though dengue cases are reported in the city, necessary measures have been taken to control it. People don't have to worry about that," said T Srinivas Yadav.
