Empower women to shine in all fields: Tamilisai Soundararajan
Koti: Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday called for efforts to enable women to shine in all fields along with men. She urged men to support women to pave way for their success.
Addressing the 15th convocation of Koti Women's College, she advised students to have high aspirations and strive to achieve them. "Your success should be such that it should empower you to be the chief guests at functions like this convocation," Dr Soundararajan wished. As many as 709 students of BSc, BCom and BA were awarded degree certificates. Eight students received gold medals.
Impressing upon students to be happy and healthy by taking up daily yoga, the Governor observed that, "girls can achieve anything they aspire for." Recalling her student days, she stated that she had participated in various programmes. She remarked that education would pave way for knowledge and empowerment. She promised to participate in the ensuing 'Bathukamma' celebrations in the college along with the faculty and the students.
The Governor later handed over degree certificates in the presence of college principal Rojarani, vice-principal Kavitha, OU Registrar Gopal Reddy, Dr Shailaja and Jyothi. Addressing gathering, Rojarani advised the degree holders to move forward with clear aims and achieve them.
