Empowering with education
Dreams of many a student to pursue higher studies remain unfulfilled due to financial constraints. With a view to helping such youth, Health Education & Sports Society has come forward to aid and mentor deserving individuals to excel in the fields of education and sports. It also helps those who need access to good healthcare but cannot afford it.
K Ramana, the founder of HES Society, Jubilee Hills, says, "It is said that many in our society belonging to marginalized communities are unable to study further and becoming dropouts. Recently we helped an underprivileged Class 9 student studying at Saikiran High School, Yousufguda, by paying her annual school fee of Rs 18,000 so she can continue her studies. Our first activity was in the memory of my grandfather we started a scholarship to pay medical college fees of a poor student every year."
Earlier, in the month of September, Shreya Celumula from Karimnagar was awarded an amount of Rs 40,000 and the First Dr K V R Prasad Memorial Scholarship by HES Society. She was selected from over 200 applicants from economically backward sections and secured a seat in merit category in the government medical college at Warangal. Her fee for the first year was financed by HES Society which will pay fees for the entire programme.
The NGO aims to empower many students in the coming years. There are 6 volunteers helping us in this cause. The Society is funded by the book, I'M POSSIBLE, authored by Dr K Hari Prasad."
"I am very much thankful to the NGO for helping continue my education. Once I stand on my feet I will also try to help any needful person," says Rani, who benefited from the NGO gesture.
