Ensure transparent polls, orders Collector

Vikarabad: District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam on Monday directed officials to hold the municipal elections in a fair and transparent manner. Addressing a training programme organised here on Monday with the police and polling staff, she said the polling staff should discharge their duties without fear or favour.

She told them also to keep an eye on poll expenditure of the candidates, which should not exceed more than Rs 1 lakh. The Collector directed them to arrange flying squads to contain transporting a huge amount of cash during the time of election code. Municipal Commissioner Bhogeshwarlu and other officials were present.
