Essential items donated to Aleti Atom Orphanage

Malkajgiri: At a programme organised by Mamidi Ramaiah Foundation on Friday, essential food items such as rice, edible oil and pulses were donated to Aleti Atom Orphanage located at Lashkarguda on the city outskirts.

Founder of the foundation and state president of Telangana Working Journalists Federation Mamidi Somaiah handed over the items to the organisers of the ashram after paying tributes to his father Mamidi Ramaiah, in whose memory the foundation was established, commemorating ninth death anniversary of Ramaiah.

Speaking on the occasion, Somaiah said that foundation conducts several social service and charitable activities every year on his father's death anniversary to help orphanages and old-age homes.

He congratulated Aleti Atom Orphanage for taking care of destitute people who were abandoned by their own people. He urged people to offer help to the orphanage which is taking care of about 200 senior citizen, mentally unstable persons and orphan kids.

Senior journalists Pulipalupula Anandam, J Uday Bhaskar Reddy, Venkata Swamy, organizer of the orphanage Aleti Atom, Harish, Samaikhya and others participated in the programme.
