Cafe Evergreen, Mylargadda
"I learnt making haleem from my ustad who is from the Old City. We have always kept our ingredients and process transparent and gained the trust of people who come from Uppal, Tarnaka and Maredpally," said Mohd Sulaiman, the owner of Cafe Evergreen which is thronged by people of all faiths, though, mostly Muslims. Syed Saleem, a customer, said: "I used to come here with my father during Ramzan. Now it has become a must. It is not just the tasty haleem but a tradition."
Hyderabad Dum Biryani, Kachiguda
"We have been serving haleem for the past two years with a great success. Even though we are new to haleem business, customers have recognised us. We serve around 200 plates everyday of mutton haleem and 100 plates of chicken haleem," said Mohd Mehboob Khan, the proprietor of Hyderabad Dum Biryani.
Muqtaar, a customer, said: "My colleague introduced me to this hotel and told me they serve the best biryani but I will say they serve the best haleem in entire Kacheguda area. No doubt their biryani is tasty but their mutton haleem is what takes all attention. I love to come here often with my friends in Ramzan to hang out and have haleem."
Cafe Aqua, Kachiguda
Mohd Asif, a regular customer, says this of Café Aqua: "Every year during Ramzan I have haleem from here only as their taste is different. It's been four years since I have been coming here after iftar to have haleem and chai. The haleem is easy on the stomach." A thankful Mirza Asif Ali, the owner of Cafe Aqua, said: "When we started this haleem centre we served only chicken haleem at first. Later on we also started serving mutton haleem. Apart from this, we have other branches in King Koti, Amberpet and Nampally."
New Goodwill Hotel, Warasiguda
Irfanullah, who runs New Goodwill Hotel, fondly says of immense love and support of loyal customers to their haleem and biryani. "We are serving chicken haleem and have managed to create a niche for ourselves. Customers love our chicken haleem come from all parts of city. It's with their trust and immense support that we have completed 30 years," he said.
Khalid, a regular to the food joint, said, "It's been 10 years I have been visiting this place to have biryani and the special Irani chai they serve, but during Ramzan I prefer to have their special chicken haleem which is very delicious. I have seen customers coming here from Gachibowli and Hi-Tec City to have the special chicken haleem. This place has set a benchmark."
New Desire Hotel, Amberpet
Fifteen years of serving haleem with high quality ingredients has earned a good name for New Desire Hotel. "We serve 200 plates every day. Our hotel being on the main junction in Amberpet, customers passing by always stop to have haleem. We serve chicken and mutton haleem but our customers love mutton haleem more than chicken haleem. Customers come from Tarnaka, Habsiguda and Nagole to eat haleem here every year," said
Mohd Shahrukh, its owner of New Desire Hotel located at Ali Cafe Road.
Ismail, a customer, praised: "It's been five years I have been visiting this place and in Ramzan I come here every evening after iftar to have haleem. Often I come with my friends and take parcel for my family as they love their haleem. The mutton haleem here is very delicious and has a different Iranian twist to it which instantly hits your taste buds when you take the first bite. This is the best haleem I have tasted so far in Hyderabad."
Dilbahar Hotel, Kachiguda
"Our hotel has been serving haleem every Ramzan for the past seven years and this is our eighth year. Everyday around 300 plates are served. It's our loyal and regular customers who been a source of great strength to us. With their support we have managed to complete seven years and I am very thankful to them," said Mohd Hasan, the owner of Dilbahar Hotel.
Mohd Ashraf, a customer, praised the hotel thus: "The haleem here is the best I have tasted anywhere. This is my regular hangout joint with my friends in Ramzan. We come here to eat haleem especially. I wait every year for Ramzan to eat haleem here. Haleem is a unique dish of Hyderabad and Dilbahar Hotel has created an identity for itself and in coming years this place will be as famous as Madina Hotel and Pista House."
Sherton Restaurant, Amberpet
"Sherton has been one of the best haleem serving hotels for many years. This is our 25th year of serving haleem in Ramzan. To run a restaurant successfully, one needs to be open and true to their customers and that is what we managed to do. We have more Hindu customers everyday which shows how much our customers trust us. This is what makes this restaurant one of the best," said Mirza Faisal Baig, the proud owner of Sherton Restaurant.
Agreeing with him, Aleem, a customer, said: "I am a regular visitor and have been visiting here for the past seven years. In Ramzan this places is filled with customers all the time. The haleem they serve here is one of the best in Hyderabad, according to me, and has the most authentic taste. It gives you the Irani feel as soon as you taste it. The use of pure meat and pure ingredients is what makes their haleem remarkable and unique from others."

"We are into our fifth year of serving haleem during Ramzan. We only serve chicken haleem and our customers have requested us to start serving mutton haleem also. Customers come all the way from LB Nagar, Uppal to have our haleem. For their love and response, we are very grateful to our customers," said Mohd Ismail, the owner of Hotel Lucky Star.
A customer by name Azhar said, "This place serves the best chicken haleem and has gained a lot of recognition. People have loved their chicken haleem and come here from different parts of the city. I have been visiting here for the past two years to have haleem. This is the best budget hotel."
