Fire department conducts mock drill at Rail Nilayam
Secunderabad: Fire department conducted mock drill at the main office of South Central Railway 'Rail Nilayam' on Friday. As part of mock drill, fire staff explained methods to escape from fire using fire extinguishing tools.
Speaking on the occasion, Railway GM Gagan Malya said that the awareness programme was conducted at Rail Nilayam as it is a seven-story building which is always overcrowded with people and employees need to be aware of escaping from the building using fire extinguishing tools in the event of fire accident.
The awareness among would help prevent loss of life and property, he said. Secunderabad fire station inspector Mohan Rao said that the mock drill was conducted on the request of Railway GM.
As part of mock drill, the employees working in the building were made aware of evacuation of people, first aid, shifting accident victims to hospital and other precautions to be taken during fire accidents. About 500 staff members participated in the mock drill, he said.
