Fire services department vacancies to be filled up

Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Friday said the government was taking steps to fill up all the vacancies in the fire department very soon. At present, the process of filling up of 168 of fireman and 19 station fire officer posts was going on.

The government was also converting 16 fire outposts in the state into full-fledged fire stations in near future, he said. Inaugurating the new building for Snorkel fire station in Secunderabad and also Vnew fire station of Cantonment, the HM said the government sanctioned Rs 95 lakh for construction of Snorkel fire station and about Rs 1.6 Crore for establishment of Cantonment Fire Station.

Home Minister said after the formation of Telangana state, the government within a short span of time sanctioned 21 new fire stations. Already 97 fire stations were existing across the state. He added that government was planning to have at least one fire station in every constituency. 18 new fire

stations were sanctioned for the purpose. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Director-General (Fire Services) Gopi Krishna and other participated in the inaugural programme.
