For love of Telugu and Kuchipudi

Nikhita's tryst with Kuchipudi started in 2011 in Hong Kong, under the tutelage of choreographer and teacher, master Eranki Srihari Baladitya and made her NatyaRangapravesam /Arangetramat the Global Peace Auditorium in the Bramha Kumari Campus.

15-year-old Nikhita started to show passion and potential early on when she received her 'gajjelu' from her guru. This set the precedent for a long dance journey alongside her interest in piano and formal academic education. "My academic pressures grew over time, but I managed to balance my academics, piano practice, debate competitions and dance practice. My love and dedication towards Kuchipudi only grew over time with the unwavering support of my parents and guru."

Throughout the years, Nikhita performedduring many prestigious occasions in various cities around the world. However, "I had the ambition to present my Rangapravesam on Telugu land amidst the most talented and renowned gurus and critiques, I set out to train extensively for two years alongside my IGCSE examinations, world scholar championships, piano certifications, philanthropic and leadership commitments," she says.

"Today, I have not only completed my academic examinations remarkably, but also completed grade six in piano certifications and achieved over ten medals in global world scholar competitions in Beijing, qualifying for the tournament of the champions at Yale University," She shares.

Nikithais now seeking the blessings, love and support of her parents, teachers, family, friends and art lovers as she embarks on this journey of discovering herself through the presentation of a myriad of items including GaneshaKavutam, Aigiri Nandini, Bhamakalapam PravesaDaruvu, Krishna Sabdam, NeelaMeghaSareeraTharangam and ThayaRagamalikaThillana.

"This list of items gives me an opportunity to present the varied facets of the art form including Abhinaya, Nrutta, Nritya, SanchariBhava and dancing on the brass plate, which is one of the most significant features ofKuchipudi repertoire," she adds.

Nikhita's guru, master Eranki Srihari Baladityagaru has made it his goal to spread the beauty of Indian dance forms around the world. Throughout the years he has gained global recognition, awards and scholarships for his Kuchipudi performances.

His dedication to dance started at the early age of three as an apprentice of the great gurus' PasumartiSitaramayya, A BalaKondala Rao and Hari Ramamurty. By the age of 15, he took on the role of a teacher. His early success landed him in Hong Kong in 2003, and since then, he has been known as a pioneer of multiple Indian dance forms. NikhitaAttaluri was among his first five students.
