G+1 GHMC model market inaugurated in Shantinagar

Tarnaka: Local leaders and prominent persons in the presence of Deputy Speaker of State Assembly T Padma Rao Goud on Friday inaugurated a G+1 GHMC model market in Shantinagar spread across 600 sq yards(303.98 sq m), built at a cost of Rs 70 lakh.

Seventeen shops include those dealing in general merchandise, vegetables,fruits, chicken, fish, dry fruits, sweets have been provided in the market. It has a bakery, a hair-cutting saloon,a beauty parlour, and a bank ATM.

Speaking at the function, Goud stated that the market has been construction with the aim of providing all facilities to the people of areas like Lalapet, Shantinagar,Aryanagar, Adarsh Colony.

The Deputy Speaker said products at reasonable rates would be made available in the market. It would provide means of livelihood to 15 families. He stated that the system of reservations has been followed in the allotment of shops.

Goud responded positively to a plea by local residents for building a community hall in the vacant area in Shantinagar. He directed the officials concerned to prepare the necessary proposals.

Among those present included local Corporator Alakunta Saraswathi, GHMC Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar, Sitaphalmandi Corporator Samala Hema, EE Pramod Kumar, besides the concerned department officials.
