Garbage pile-up poses health threat
Moula Ali: Indiscriminate dumping of garbage at street no 9, Gayatri Nagar, Moula Ali has become a health hazard for the residents.
Locals alleged that the civic authorities were negligent in performing their duties. A local resident shares, "There is no regular garbage clean up. the garbage van comes once a week and takes away the entire collected dump."
"Till that time the wastage decomposes and starts stinking. This becomes a breeding ground for all types of infection and mosquitoes, posing a risk of spreading vector-borne diseases. It's very frustrating to see the garbage lying because it is affecting the environment," he added.
Another resident said, "It's sad that the civic authorities don't care about citizens and their neighborhood and frankly the environment. There are elderly and infants who could get affected. I think now the colony members will have to come forward to clean and get rid of that stuff."
