Garbage piles up due to GHMC apathy
Madhura Nagar: Garbage has been piling up everywhere on streets, lanes including main roads. Tree branches were left over on roads by the electricity employees last month. They are stinking and emitting foul smell and there is no one to bother about it. The stretch from Madura Nagar to Yousufguda and KK Towers to Sriram Nagar Colony is filled with garbage at all the corners.
A resident Vinay said that GHMC workers were not owning up their responsibility for the unattended garbage and fallen tree branches. The locals also say that they the trash is being burnt by the civic workers in violation of GHMC rules.
A shopkeeper Sulab in the area demanded that GHMC officials address the issue immediately and ensure that the garbage is removed regularly. It appears that neither residents nor the GHMC officials seem to be concerned about pile-up of garbage everywhere. Moreover, tree branches are creating a lot of difficulties for the commuters, he rued.
