Gesture from Jamaat E Islami Hind to dwarf family
Purani Haveli: As a gesture of brotherhood, the women wing of JIH (Jamaat-e-Islami Hind) on Friday distributed gifts amongst the family members of dwarf family living near Mir Alam Mandi in Old City.
The sisters, Yamuna, Ranjitha, Vaishali and Sonu, were in a celebratory mood after the women representing JIH made visit to their residence on Friday. Besides providing clothing to the entire family, including the parents they were also offered 25-kg rice in the form of ration for celebrating the festival without any hitch.
The visiting women hoped that the entire family would prosper in the coming days. The family is famous as Chauhan's in Mir Alam Mandi and generations of them are affected by genetic condition Achondroplasia, which causes short limbed dwarfism.
