GHMC allots 50 cr for road repair works

Hyderabad: Due to incessant rains in the last few days in the city, 987 patch roads on various routes were damaged and 4,000 potholes identified in the initial survey made by the engineering officials, said the Commissioner, M Dana Kishore.

The repair works would be taken up on damaged roads of various routes on war footing basis and Rs 50 crore has been allotted for the works, said the Commissioner.

Earlier, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan along with the Commissioner inspected the ongoing repair works on damaged roads in various parts of the city. The Commissioner held a video conference with Zonal Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners.

With 150 Monsoon relief teams, the repair works would be taken-up 24 hours (round the clock) with three shifts. To repair the roads under ongoing SRDP projects Rs 3 crore has been allotted separately, said the Commissioner.
