GHMC calls for reports on stability of hoardings
Hyderabad: The GHMC issued notices to the cell towers service providers to submit a report on the structural stability of all towers in Greater Hyderabad. Over the last few days, there have been heavy rains accompanied with gusty winds, which fell many hoardings and a huge flood light tower at LB Stadium.
There were two casualties and extensive property losses in the city. In this regard, the service providers of cell towers were asked by the GHMC Enforcement Department to submit reports by engineers or experts from Osmania and JNTU on the structural stability of all the towers in city.
The GHMC also issued notices to the Telangana Sports Authority to submit a report immediately on the structural stability of the remaining three flood light towers in Lal Bahadur Stadium. Experts from
JNTU and Osmania University engineering department are to study the stability. GHMC Commissioner also ordered removal of towers if reports call for it. He also told the agencies concerned to remove flexes and hoardings along major routes.
