GHMC Mayor, officials visit Nagpur, study develop projects

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan along with a team of GHMC official visited Nagpur to study the development programmes in the state of Maharashtra.

The team studied management of sewerage treatment plants, management of parks, Metro Rail project, two-floored flyovers, underpass construction, and other works. MAUD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, GHMC CE's Zia Uddin, Sridhar, OSD Mahendar, SE's and others were part of the study team. He participated in a meeting with Metro Rail officials and learnt about the Nagpur Metro Rail Project in detail.

The innovative double decker flyover in which one was used for vehicles and other for Metro Rail impressed the team. The Nagpur Metro Rail team explained, "The novel 38.215 km double decker flyover reduces the cost of the project by 40 per cent and the works were completed in a short period of time."

Later, they visited the STP which was constructed on PPP (public private partnership). The Mayor explained the idea of diverting treated water from STPs to parks and building construction. They also checked out the vertical gardens arranged in some of the areas in the city. Meanwhile the Mayor invited Nagpur Metro Rail officials to Hyderabad. The touring team would be visiting Pune on Wednesday.
