GHMC negligent about safety of staff: BJP

Darusshifa: Demanding an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh and government job for kin of the diseased in the accident which took place IBD Imlibun dumping yard, the BJP spokesperson and Minority Morcha leader Firasath Ali Baqri strongly criticised the "absence of any of the higher-ups" including Mayor, Deputy Mayor or GHMC Commissioner at the site where two of the GHMC workers died.

Speaking to The Hans India, he described the accident as unfortunate and blamed the administration of GHMC for what he termed a 'clear case of carelessness' which took lives of two of the sole breadwinners of their families. He said that the GHMC had failed to maintain safety of their employees.

Baqri met Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management Director Viswajit Kampati and Zonal Commissioner (Charminar) B Srinivas Reddy and discussed about the issue. Later, he visited Osmania General Hospital where the bodies were shifted for autopsy.
