GHMC to hold slum-level welfare federation meets

Malkajgiri: Local GHMC Deputy Commissioner Venugopal has announced that the civic body would hold Slum-level Welfare Federation meetings to ensure that slums are free of problems.

He was speaking after conducting a Slum Welfare Federation meeting in Jai Nagar Committee Hall in Malkajgiri-Neredmet division. Dr Anand, SCHO, Anil Kumar of OPHC, Neredmet, AE Entomology Veena, AE Malkajgiri Nagaraju, Sanitary Inspector Nagendra attended the meeting.

The officials explained the schemes being implemented by their respective departments and their public utility value. Veena gave a demonstration on precautions to be taken against mosquitoes.The AEs elaborated the development works being taken up in the division.

They urged residents to bring to their notice any problem faced by slum-dwellers, as finding solutions was the main objective of holding such meetings. Later, the officials distributed saplings as part of the Haritha Haram programme to members of SHGs.
