GHMC to switch over to E-Challan system
Hyderabad: GHMC is all but set to introduce e-challan machines within Greater Hyderabad in the departments of Enforcement, Vigilance and Revenue.
According to sources, the work has already begun at the IT Department and within a month or two, the machines will be provided to the other GHMC departments.
The GHMC has to overcome a challenge to make these machines more effective and work efficient. E-Challan happens to be one of the comprehensive digital solutions for the traffic department. Most of all, it enhances the visibility of offenders and helps in better management.
It is used in two different ways: issuing challans through personal contact, for example, when a policeman catches a violator and issues a challan, and the other by issuing challans through SMS after the violation is caught by CCTV cameras.
Similarly, the GHMC, which uses challan books to impose penalties on the violators of GHMC norms, is now upgrading to E-Challan machines to impose taxes.
The machines instantly produce printed challans and send the same information to the officials concerned at head office. The information is also saved directly on the GHMC websites. E-challan has an easy and user-friendly android app interface.
The main features of E-Challan machines are secure data transfer between client and server, ability to query previous violations related to a case from server using registration numbers and other parameters of the shops, properties, submit all collection data to sever in real time using GPRS connection, easy data storage and retrieval and fast data manipulations, complete data security, system administration features like user creation, user privilege and authorizations, modern web interface for central site (mobile friendly), detailed user activity log, export reports & application logs, secured user access and robust storage, efficient database design for maximum efficiency. The GHMC officials are yet to confirm the details regarding the provision of E-Challan machines for the enforcement and other revenue staff.
