Glowing tributes paid to guiding lights

Begumpet: Devnar Blind School located at Begumpet celebrated 28th Teachers Day here on Thursday.

RSS South India Pracharakshyam Kumar and Devnar Foundation founder Dr Saibaba Goud and Jyothi Goud participated in the programme. As part of the programme, a new block of the school was inaugurated and a book on biography of Swamy Vivekananda in Braille script was launched.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saibaba Goud explained the facilities provided to blind students at the school and precautions taken by the school administration. Emphasizing the importance of teachers in the education, he explained with examples how teachers play key role in the personal growth of many reputed people.

He narrated how the teachers of the school brought about significant changes in the lives of students who studied in the school. RSS Pracharakshyam Kumar in his speech highlighted the importance of teachers in Indian culture and traditions.

Later, the school management felicitated teachers and volunteer teachers working in the school. The cultural performances by the blind students captivated the audience.
