Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to lend helping hand to Self Help Groups members
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) plans to prepare the profiles of the women members of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Greater Hyderabad. Stating that that there are around 45,000 SHGs in city, the corporation sees the necessity of preparing family profiles of women members of SHGs, which will help them develop economically and socially.
The GHMC officials will gather details about SHG member's health, education, employment and family details within a month. "SHG women members are taking participation in all the initiatives taken up by the GHMC in city limits. Around 8,000 women members of SHGs were inactive and we should make them re-active," said GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore.
The officials are also gearing up to resolve the grievances received from the presidents of slum level federation and SHGs on 040-21111111 on issues relating to their respective colonies. The community organizers have been advised to disseminate information about the free delivery of about 140 types of various medicines and regarding medical checkup camps in the city for underprivileged people.
