Haritha Haram held in Mambapur, Regondi

Peddamul: Haritha Haram, the state government's initiative to increase green cover in the state, was organised in Mambapur and Regondi villages the mandal on Monday.

As part of the programme, sarpanches, MPTC members and others planted saplings in panchayat office and government school premises. Regodi sarpanch Hasimuddin, along with Telangana Grameena Bank officials, planted saplings on the premises of local government primary school.

Speaking after the programme, Regodi sarpanch Hasimuddin urged people to plant more trees and take up responsibility of protecting the saplings thus planted. He said that trees not only provide oxygen but help in protecting health too. "Trees also serve as medicines and preserve our health," he said.

Telangana Grameena Bank Tandur branch field officer Krishna Prasad, Mambapur Panchayat secretary Uma, Regonda panchayat secretary Gowramma, Anganwadi volunteer Fauzia Begum, Ananthaiah, Anjan Kumar and others participated in the programme and planted saplings.
