Health department contract staff stage protest
Musheerabad: Contract outsourcing employees working in health department staged protest at the office of Director of Medical and Health here on Tuesday, demanding regularisation of their services and hike in their pay on par with those in Andhra Pradesh.
BC leader R Krishnaiah participated in the protest along with the protesting employees.Speaking on behalf of contract outsourcing employees, R Krishnaiah demanded that the state government make their jobs permanent and hike their salaries. He said that the neighbouring state AP increased the salaries of two categories of employees: first category from Rs 12,000 to Rs 29,900 and second category from Rs 15,000 to Rs 33,000.
He asked the Telangana government to hike the salaries on par with those in AP. Noting that Telangana CM KCR had promised to make their jobs permanent during the first assembly elections, he questioned the CM why he had failed to keep up his promise made to outsourcing employees. He also demanded implementation of the High Court order to TS government to give wages on a par with regular employees.
The Supreme Court had also supported implementation of minimum wages policy, he said. BC leader Gujja Krishna, state INTUC president Venkateshwar Reddy, president of AITUCW Shabbir Ahmed and other trade union leaders also spoke on the occasion. Trade union leaders N Kishan Reddy, Shravan Kumar, Chandrashekhar, Venkatapathi, Satish, Srinivas, Mallaiah, Rajendra Prasad, Vemula Ramakrishna, Jillapalli Anji and others participated in the protest.
