Heaps of garbage piling up on vacant land
Trimulgherry: Throwing waste products into open plots or vacant lands has become a habit among the people. The waste is recycled and the rest ends up in landfills, ditches on roadsides and empty fields.
An open plot in Sai Nagar is completely covered with plastic waste. Several warnings were issued in the past, to the people not to dispose waste in the area which is opposite to the Bus stop.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, P Gaurav, a resident, said "The sanitation workers do not collect the garbage and when we ask them to remove it, they ask for extra amount. There is a bus stand on the opposite side. The foul smell that is being generated has become unbearable. It is becoming difficult for us as the environment is getting polluted."
S Teja, A commuter, said "The area is filled with garbage and unwanted waste which gets piled up everyday, which in turn, develops unbearable smell. It becomes difficult for the people waiting in the bus stand with the foul smell. The people from the nearby should take action for leaving plastic bags filled with garbage in empty plot filled with apartments, shops and bus stand."
