HM apprised of police recruitment anomalies

Musheerabad: National President of BC Welfare Association R Krishnaiah, along with Vice President Gujja Krishna, unemployed JAC chairman Neela Venkatesh and convener of Unemployed JAC Anwar, met TS Home Minister Mahmood Ali at Secretariat on Friday to discuss irregularities in police recruitments.

Condemning the state government's vindictive attitude against the candidates who appeared for the police recruitment exams and protesting the irregularities in conducting the exams, BC leaders asked the HM as to why the candidates were not allowed to protest at Indira Park and why Greyhound police were deployed at the press conference held at Press club in this regard.

Speaking on the occasion, R Krishnaiah deplored the deployment of 400 Greyhound police and arresting them at Press Club where they assembled to conduct press conference to condemn the irregularities in police recruitments.

Telangana State was formed with a slogan of 'Water, funds and recruitments,' but the state government has failed to fulfill the aspirations of unemployed youth in the state, he said. Krishnaiah said he questioned the home minister on arresting the candidates who were protesting the irregularities.

He said that many candidates were deprived of opportunities due to the improper way of conducting the exams. Referring to the 800 m race, he said as many as 40 to 50 candidates were made to stand at the starting point, which resulted in stampede like condition and that many fit candidates lost the race as a result.

He said that several women candidates lost due to the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The home minister promised to look into the matter and to address it at the earliest. J Anji, JaipalMudhiraj and other BC leaders were also present on the occasion.
