HM urged to fix anomalies in constable recruitment

Banjara Hills: BC leaders, led by unemployed JAC chairman Venkatesh and BC welfare association vice president Gujja Krishna, call on Telangana Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy here at her residence in Minister Quarters on Wednesday. The BC leaders urged the minister to look into irregularities in the selection of police constables and do justice to those who were deprived of opportunities.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Venkatesh alleged that several candidates who got marks above the cutoff mark were not selected for the posts. Injustice was done to the hundreds of candidates, he said. Venkatesh said that the authorities concerned were not providing reservation-wise, category-wise and group-wise results. He suspected foul play as the details about the results were deliberately kept secret.

He also questioned the high fees collected by the state government for the exam. While neighbouring AP charges Rs 400, TS government charges only Rs 1,000, he said. Extra fees were charged even to know the marks obtained by the candidates, he said. Venkatesh said that they have demanded the minister for inquiry into the irregularities in the results.
