HMRL starts shuttle service for Telangana High Court staff

Ghansi Bazar: Telangana High Court Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan flagged off shuttle services between Telangana High Court and MGBS (Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station) Metro station, at the High Court premises in Ghansi Bazar on Monday.

The shuttle services are operational from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm at intervals of 15 minutes. They would would cater to the needs of the High Court lawyers, staff, and other clientele who come to the High Court in large numbers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice has asked the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) MD, NVS Reddy, to increase the shuttle service frequency from MGBS Metro Station to the High Court during peak hours and also requested him to introduce similar shuttle services to all other district courts located in twin cities from the nearest Metro station.

The Chief Justice also underlined the importance of public transport system as it would help reduce traffic congestion and pollution levels and advised the MD to give wide publicity, put up signage boards etc., so that people would be aware of the facility.

Justice Naveen Rao has suggested that HMRL introduce more number of electric vehicles to encourage green mobility in the city. NVS Reddy said that for the first one week, the shuttle services would be free and later an amount of Rs 15 will be charged for each trip from MGBS Metro Station to High Court and vice-versa.

Justice Rajashekher Reddy, Justice A Abhishek Reddy, Justice Challa Kodanda Ram, Bar Association president T Surya Karan Reddy, general secretaries Rajinikanth Reddy and M Sudarshan, L&TMRHL MD KVB Reddy, Chief Operating Officer Anil Kumar Saini, HMRL DCP A Balakrishna and senior lawyers and High Court officials were present on the occasion.
