Household celebrates birthday of a plant

Tandur: A family of the town celebrated birthday of a plant on Monday. The event was a combination of the birth anniversary of a man who planted the saplings and the day when it was planted. In fact, the birthday celebration of the tree is a memorial for the loved member of the family who is no more.

Kotrika Venkaiah was a popular leader of TRS party in the town. He was also a businessman. He planted a sapling on the occasion of his birthday three years ago. He loved it so much. He arranged a tree guard and watered it every day.

He died recently due to health reasons. He death was a shock to the family. But the family members never neglected the plant, which Venkatiah loved so much. They continued his caringfor the plant.

The family members did not want to miss the birthday of their loved one. They celebrated Venkataiah's birth anniversary on Sunday, which was also the birthday of the plant. Venkatiah's wife K Vijayalaxmi along with her grand children celebrated the event on a grand note. They distributed breakfast to the in-patients and their relatives of government hospital.

Speaking to The Hans India, they said they see Venkataiahin the plant. They would take care of it as he wished. "It makes us feel his presence and we will continue his unfinished work," they vowed.
