Hunar Haat fair kicks off
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi,the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, interacting with vendors at 'Hunar Haat' exhibition during the inauguration at People's Plaza, Necklace Road on Sunday. It will conclude on January 19. Mahmood Ali, the TS Home Minister, and others are also seen. Hunar Haat is an exhibition of handicrafts and traditional products made by artisans from the Minority communities. It is organised by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs.
The scheme aims to establish Hunar Hub in all the states where programs like Hunar Haati and other cultural events are being organised. The exhibition held across the country is helping to preserve and promote India's indigenous traditional legacy of master artisans and craftsmen which was on the verge of extinction. Thousands of artisans and people associated with the fairs, including a large number of women artisans, get employment through 'Hunar Haat.' The fair also attracts the interest of foreigners.
Naqvi said that "Hunar Haat" has proved to be "Empowerment Exchange" for master artisans and craftsmen. More than 2 lakh 50 thousand master artisans, craftsmen and culinary experts have been provided employment and employment opportunities in the last 3 years. These include a large number of women artisans. The Modi Government will provide employment and employment opportunities to lakhs of artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts through "Hunar Haat" in the next 5 years.
